Option 1: in the app (recommended)
- Open DiveBuddy Pro and sign in.
- Go to “Account & security”.
- Choose account deletion and confirm.
The in-app route is the secure default because your identity is already proven by the existing sign-in.
Option 2: by email to support
If you cannot access the app, write to support@divebuddy.pro with the subject “Account deletion DiveBuddy Pro”.
- Send the request from the email address of your account.
- State that you want your DiveBuddy Pro account deleted completely.
- For identity verification a confirmation may be sent to the email address on file. Without confirmation nothing is deleted, so that no one can delete someone else's account.
- Do not send passwords or identity documents.
What gets deleted
- Account data: credentials, provider links (Google/Apple), profile and settings.
- User-generated content of your account: logbook, dive record, your posts, comments, reactions, messages, group and buddy links, trips/DiveSteps, marketplace listings and your media in cloud storage.
- Active share links become invalid and are immediately unreachable.
- Push tokens for your device.
What may be retained
- Data required to meet statutory obligations – such as transaction records within commercial or tax retention periods, insofar as the provider holds such data.
- Log data for abuse prevention for the period required.
- Content that other users saved independently or quoted in their own posts, insofar as it is their own content.
- Backups may delay deletion technically; data is removed as the backup cycle expires.
Subscriptions and purchases
- Subscriptions are managed in your Apple ID or Google Play account.
- Deleting your account does not automatically end a store subscription. Cancel it in the store as well, otherwise billing continues.
Questions
If you are unsure which data is affected, ask beforehand at support@divebuddy.pro. You can also delete individual content instead of the whole account.
